As part of this year’s Open Access Week, held under the slogan “The Price of Knowledge”, we invite you to the lecture “OpenCode.HR: The National Platform for Collaborative Development and Sharing of Research Software”. The lecture will be delivered by dr. Davor Davidović and Tom Wildman from the Ruđer Bošković Institute, and Dubravko Penezić from SRCE. The lecture will introduce OpenCode.HR, a national platform for the collaborative development and sharing of research software. The lecture will include a practical session, so participants are encouraged to bring their own laptops.
About the speakers:
Davor Davidović, IRB
Davor Davidović is a Senior Research Associate and Head of the Center for Informatics and Computing at the Ruđer Bošković Institute. His research focuses on parallel and distributed computing, code optimization, hybrid and GPU programming, and linear algebra, with applications in computational chemistry, materials science, and theoretical physics. Dr. Davidović has participated in over 14 international and national research projects and has published 42 original scientific papers in international journals and conference proceedings.
Tom Wildman, MSc, IRB
Tom Wildman is a software developer with extensive experience in both enterprise and consumer software development. While he did most work in frontend languages and frameworks, he does have experience in backend and other supporting technologies. He has worked across the full software development lifecycle, from designing and implementing user-facing applications to integrating backend services and APIs.
Dubravko Penezić, SRCE
Dubravko Penezić is a software developer specializing in authentication and authorization systems. Since 2001, he has been with the University Computing Centre (SRCE) in Zagreb, where he leads the national eduroam service in Croatia. He actively participates in national and international open-source initiatives and serves as a member of the OpenCode.HR operational team.
He has authored several key software tools, including user onboarding utilities (installer.eduroam.hr), RADIUS infrastructure testing tools (monitor.eduroam.org), and eduroam network monitoring solutions (status.eduroam.hr). Additionally, he serves as a developer representative on the GÉANT Open Source Review Board.
His professional and research interests cover software and hardware development practices, IoT, and modern authentication and authorization mechanisms and protocols.
