Advanced usage of Secure Shell (SSH) protocol

Secure Shell (SSH) is a cryptographic network protocol for operating network services securely over an unsecured network. SSH provides a secure channel over an unsecured network in a client-server architecture, connecting an SSH client application with an SSH server. Common applications include remote command-line login and remote command execution, but any network service can be secured with SSH.

This presentation will provide a short walk-through of using ssh in various circumstances. Then we'll dive into an exploration of various options that SSH provides and extend that to specific use cases while closely considering different security implications of each case.

Nikola Pavkovic received a master's degree after studying at Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (University of Zagreb) in 2006. He works at Information Systems dept @Rudjer Boskovic Institute since 2006 and has published a number of technical papers covering various topics related to information security. As a teaching assistant at FER, in scope of the "Advanced algorithms and data structures" subject, he held several classes about basic cryptography algorithms. In 2014, after defending his thesis "Penetration testing through social engineering" he got a specialist degree in Information Security.
