The Open Research Europe (ORE) platform, operated by the European Commission, has been accepted for indexing in the Scopus database, even in its early stages. ORE is an innovative open-access platform with post-publication peer review, dedicated to research and projects funded under the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe programs. The platform's goal is to provide researchers with a high-quality and intuitive space for free and transparent publication of their work in line with the European Commission's open science policy. The platform is guided by an international scientific advisory board and was awarded the DOAJ Seal of Approval in 2021 as one of the best practices in open-access publishing. Currently, all the platform's content is indexed in Google Scholar and synchronized with the Zenodo repository to include reviewed papers. It will soon be sent to Inspec as well. Acceptance for indexing in Scopus marks a step towards the even more successful functioning of the Open Research Europe platform.

At first glance, it seems as though progress was made towards opening up datasets for research purposes. Research funders increased support open data management standards and FAIR principles, more and more journals require the posting of foundational research data as appendices at the end of published papers. Datasets areare assigned DOIs to ensure they are always easily discoverable, and such citation methods also boost researchers' impact.

However, in reality it's a different picture. The global science evaluation system does not (yet) value publicly available data as it does articles in journals or books, which can potentially not only slow down but also completely halt the "open data revolution".

BBB-u možete pristupiti putem sustava MojOblak koji su implmentirali i održavaju unazad nekoliko godina djelatnici Centra za znanstvene informacije. S početkom pandemije koronavirusa ova usluga se pokazala izrazito korisnom - održava se po nekoliko sastanaka dnevno, a ima tu pristupnih predavanja, konferencija, radionica i drugih događanja.

Cilj ovog Kratkog edukacijskog seminara je upoznavanje s načinima kreiranja vlastitih soba za sastanke te konfiguracije pristupa sudionicima. Dotaknut ćemo se i mogućnosti upravljanja korisničkim sučeljem iz perspektive moderatora, a za kraj prokomentirati i druga videokonferencijska rješenja te ih usporediti s BBB-om.

Nastavno na omogućeni probni pristup e-knjigama i e-časopisima, izdavač Bentham Science održat će online radionicu za hrvatsku znanstvenu i akademski zajednicu. Na radionici će se sudionici moći detaljnije informirati o samom izdavaču i upoznati se s novom platformom i dostupnim sadržajem. Bit će predstavljeni i praktični savjeti o odabiru časopisa za objavu radova, iskustva s tzv. predatorskim časopisima, a podijelit će i druge korisne informacije.

The management and preservation of research data according to FAIR principles are gaining importance, occupying a strategic position within university institutional work programs. Higher education institutions across Europe and the world recognize that proper research data management (RDM) is crucial to keeping up with the digital transition of scientific production and knowledge dissemination, while also promoting a better understanding and acceptance of open research processes, known as open science. The European project "Fostering FAIR data practices in Europe" (FAIRsFAIR), aimed at developing and providing practical solutions to support the implementation and use of FAIR principles throughout the lifecycle of research data, also seeks to assist higher education institutions in integrating these principles into their curriculum and programs.

As part of national subscription for IOPscience extra (publisher Institute of Physics), a Read&Publish contract has been concluded which enables our scientific and academic community to publish an unlimited number of papers in open access without additional publication costs (no APCs)!

Mnogo novosti donosi nam Ministarstvo kulture i medija Republike Hrvatske. Donijelo je 1. listopada Pravilnik o uvjetima i načinu stjecanja stručnih zvanja u knjižničarskoj struci (NN 107/2021), te u Narodnim novinama 103/21 od 24. rujna 2021. godine objavilo 3 nova standarda u knjižničarskoj struci: Standard za narodne knjižnice u Republici Hrvatskoj (NN 103/21), Standard za specijalne knjižnice (NN 103/21) i Standard za digitalne knjižnice (NN 103/21).

Pravilnik stupa na snagu osmoga dana od dana objave, a uređuje temeljna i viša stručna zvanja u knjižničarskoj struci, stručne ispite i priznavanje inozemne stručne kvalifikacije.

Open Research Europe (ORE) is a novel publishing platform established by the European Commission with the aim of providing researchers a high-quality and user-friendly space for publishing their work. It's focused on the works created as part of projects funded by the Horizon 2020 (and Horizon Europe) program, enabling authors to publish their work freely and in alignment with the European Commission's open science policy. To be accepted, submissions should originate from Horizon 2020 program projects and be unpublished until submission, regardless of the current research interest.
